Yossarian: generally reverse-engineering the shipped JS in a modern webapp is a fool's game because it's all been minified and may not even have originated as JS. You're much better off looking at the trace of async network requests in the browser debugger -- look for AJAX or XHR requests to plausible-looking endpoints -- and trying to recreate those yourself.

< Yossarian>
Thank you for the tip, I've realized something personally though.
22:22
< Yossarian>
So, I sit and whine that I've got writer's block and I'm afraid to do code and that's true; but I really ought to be doing things to get into an apartment.
22:23
< Yossarian>
Where I won't have the same worries I have now and I can actually have a wired internet connection and a desk and my overall life will be more stable where I can sit and think properly.
22:24
< Yossarian>
However, it doesn't mean I can't sit here and think about it.
22:25
< Yossarian>
But having the Uber Estimator tool without having to use the goddamned Android app and say like, top 3 places or trips me and my mum do can be queried like a stockticker or weather app would be quite a useful tool
22:26
< Yossarian>
even though my mum and I have noticed there is a delta between the estimator price and the price when you query the app
22:26
< Yossarian>
I'm so dumb and lazy that I didn't even check if there is an Uber API, surely there might be?
22:26
<@celticminstrel>
Or you could take a taxi instead. It’d probably be cheaper.
22:27
<@celticminstrel>
Well, assuming it’s within city boundaries at least.

<&[R]>
IIRC he's in some 900 population town in NJ
22:39
<@celticminstrel>
900 people?
22:39
<@celticminstrel>
That sounds kinda small.
22:43
<~Vornicus>
900 people is smallerthan the town my parents live in and that feels like some nowhere place
22:50
<@ErikMesoy>
Would saying the town's name be a millidox? 🤔
22:51
<@celticminstrel>
…”millidox”…
