uch. I know what I'd *like* to do in excel, and I remember seeing a thing that looked vaguely like it once upon a time in a magazine or a blog post, but I have no idea if it ever made it and I can't find it

they had this, like, minisheet that you could stuff a bunch of formulas into and then you could name that minisheet as a formula

Is anyone here really that crazy about calibre? It seems to be a tool to create a library of different files and import them forcefully into its own file hierarchy and to upload them to your reading device, smartphone, et cetera...
19:53
< Yossarian>
I like the idea, I think it is executed poorly.
19:55
< Yossarian>
however, there are front-ends in spite of the default interface: https://github.com/chenyanming/calibredb.el emacs interface for calibre
19:57
< Yossarian>
Maybe I haven't dug into calibre deeply enough but it would be interesting to be able to customize the way files are stored (hierarchical file system styles, databases) as well as building tables of indices of books into one large index for all books as well as annotations and such.

and biblography and reference search

< Yossarian>
the default interface would do well to incorporate pandoc right click context menus for transmutation of files to other formats... I'm sure there is a mod but I figured I'd ask before I go ahead and start writing my own calibre replacement

I haven't looked at the source yet but my implementation of such software would allow any sort of interface, TUI, CLI, X11, whatever. With a 'evil' mode like say emacs has or zathura has, searching of document or many documents could be done like an ed/ex command in vi/vim

A fellow I follow online recently published an e-Book, and he had many things to say about Calibre and related technologies
