Experimental-ish macOS build of the UQM 0.8 beta, built using a newly created set of minimal build instructions

It would be particularly nice to see if this ran on systems older than 10.12.

< Mahal>
I am not a programmer, but I would also note to Kizor that a certain direction of thinking is common to all 'good' sysadmins
09:19
< Mahal>
it's some combination of logic + common sense + willingness to think a smidgen outside the square and it combines into some arcane skillset where all the 'good' sysadmins I know just know Piles of Random Shit that mostly seems irrelevant day-to-day
09:20
< Mahal>
and yet when Excreta Meets Rotating Ventilators it is very important to have those specific types of people
09:21
< Mahal>
we do not know everything by a long shot but we are generally good at knowing what's important and what's not and when pressed can probably explain *why*
09:21
< Mahal>
although sometimes it boils down to "the last fifteen years of experience just have my radar going BING at that fact" not something easily definable

<@Tamber>
Yeah, having that "Something's *fucky*" sense is quite important, especially when you have the eclectic grab-bag of "This broke horribly this way back at ${place}, and we had to wave a rubber chicken at it thusly..." sorts of knowledge~
11:52
<@Tamber>
...but also, ime, programming feels like I have to build a whole house of cards in my head that holds all the state of the world as far as a particular project goes and what interlinks with what. And that takes me about a week -- minimum -- of staring at it, poking things, and figuring out what stuff means. (And that's only for my small projects. x.x )
11:58
<~Vorntastic>
Yeah the bearer you can make things the less you have to keep around

<~Vorntastic>
Neater, gosh

Yeah, it's a lot better if it's not a giant spiderweb of stuff
12:05
<@Tamber>
But even so, there's still a good amount of mental card-house-building that needs to go on, if you're coming into it cold.
