Reiver: The unusual thing about Delphi is its following amongst enthusiast communities
01:36
<&McMartin>
It has the vibe of the sorts of people who spent decades writing BASIC programs long past the language's general relevance, but it's, like, the game engine that Luftrausers/Gunpoint/Undertale licensed.

... hunh.

<&Reiver>
I guess it Does The Job, y'know?
02:33
<&McMartin>
It's the successor to Borland Turbo Pascal.
02:33
<&McMartin>
Turbo Pascal was a really, really, *really* big deal in the early and even mid 1990s.

<~Vornicus>
Hardest problem in CS time
15:30
<~Vornicus>
vornonoi: I've got a method called correctEdge which given an edge between two triangles will switch to the alternative two triangles. It's called when the existing pair doesn't match the delaunay invariant that any triangle doesn't have another point in its circumcircle.
15:32
<~Vornicus>
Because the correctEdge method is very long -- it's around 60 lines, because I need to do a lot of work to manipulate the data structure.
15:33
<~Vornicus>
-- I wish to have another method that actually decides whether the swap should be performed.
15:33
<~Vornicus>
And that method is the one I need to name
15:34
<@TheWatcher>
checkTriangleSwap?
15:35
<@TheWatcher>
evaluateDelaunayMatch?
15:35
<@TheWatcher>
swapOrNot?

<~Vornicus>
*think think* okay new plan I'll just call it edgeNeedsCorrecting and it'll return a bool
