Ok. When logging I'll keep track of the seed by including it in the filename of the chunk's logs, and also print it to stdout so I can see what one has gone wrong

Are you making a game?
12:41
<~Vornicus>
I am making a thing that could conceivably be put into a game
12:44
<~Vornicus>
It was originally inspired by some game stuff, which helps

Wasn't there some shell syntax similar to $(...) but that redirects the output into the command instead of passing it through argv?

<&jerith>
<$(...) ?

<~Vornicus>
is pipe not enough?

A pipe | will let you supply input as stdin, the <(...) output redirection will give the program a /dev/fd/ device to read from, which is supplied by the redirected program.

The latter was what I was looking for yes.

To be fair, it's entirely possible to import data into Excel without that happening, you just have to know what you're doing.
22:33
< [R]>
Right, but someone who deals with CSV data because it's actually processable by a ton of other stuff is told by some other department they want it in Excel is going to end up accidentally fucking that all up
22:34
< [R]>
OR the software could've ben written correctly in the first place and treat a single column as a single type (And if auto conversion fails, abort on the entire column)
